Sometimes, I wish I drank alcohol

Just so I’d have something to blame for the things I do. But nope. All the embarrassment and bad life choices are 100% me.

don’t worry, i drink enough for both of us.

I’m glad someone is picking up my slack.

and on that note, to the biergarten!

1. favorite team?

the penguins are my #1, the avs are my #1a. (i live in colorado and seriously, i dare you not to root for this bucketful of cuties at least a little. except for varly, he can fall in a hole.)

2. least favorite team?

flyers. sorry, your orange jerseys clash with my hair. (and giroux’s, too, frankly.)

3. favorite player(s) thats not on your team?

HILARY KNIGHT. (shhhh, non-nhl players totally count.) uhhh. jamie benn, probs. then pk subban. nick leddy (high school! bros! hometown hero!). seggy is definitely on the list. the gallys. bob. pkane. i have a weird affection for JVR? brandon bollig. carey price. i’d say max talbot BUT HE’S BACK ON (ONE OF) MY TEAM(S) YAY.

13. opinions on fighting? (do you like it, dislike it, etc)

i am of two minds on this, to an extent.

one: i really fucking like hockey fights, they’re fun to watch, they get the crowd amped up, and i think it can sometimes be important to demonstrate to an opposing team that their bullshit will no longer be tolerated. i’ve also found that enforcers tend to be heart and soul kind of guys. they’re not the best players on the team, they’re not getting the most minutes, but they fucking love the game and they’ve generally worked their asses off up from the minors to get where they are. for instance, watch my bae patrick bordeleau when the avs leave the ice. he’s almost always the last one off, and he high-fives or fistbumps every single player. i love guys like that. fuck, i know guys like that, down in the minors.

two: hockey fights are dangerous as fuck, there’s no getting around it. it can be argued that less injuries come from fights than say, dirty hits, but there’s no questioning that a guy, particularly a guy who doesn’t know how to fight, can get seriously hurt.

conclusion: it’s a problem, but it’s a problem that is a common part of the game. i don’t think fighting is going to be around much longer, nor do i think it should. but am i gonna miss it? probably a little.

thanks for asking, dearie! xx
